This work explores the tension and harmony between duality and transformation. The two figures, a duality of one individual, embody the process of self-confrontation and growth. Positioned by a pencil, a universal tool of creation and correction, they symbolize the act of rewriting oneself. Each form is split open, revealing an inner world that glows with potential, echoing the metamorphosis from cocoon to emergence.
The textures and colors evoke both resistance and renewal. The rough, shell-like surfaces reference the layers we shed through change, while the vibrant interiors suggest the energy and vulnerability of becoming. This piece asks what it means to evolve and how breaking apart can be both painful and necessary, transformation is not a single moment but a continual dialogue between what we were and what we are becoming.
Through this duality, I invite viewers to consider their own cycles of reinvention, the courage it takes to split open, and the beauty found in recreation.
