Mixed Feelings

 This is an interactive installation about emotional duality. In recognition of my personal mental health struggles, I invite the audience to a brief moment of what that is like. The viewer wearing 3D glasses spins the art to reveal a sense of conflicted feelings as the blue and red, happy and sad faces spin in all directions on a separate spinning wheel. This experience of chaotic harmony leaves a sense of visual distortion and social anxiety, you can then grab a keepsake, a black and white patch of reassurance, stating “It's all gunna be alright”. This revolving cycle of emotions constantly runs through me despite having persevered through the traumatic events triggering them. When in deep level of depression, you have the choice to either fester in it or grow strength from it. It is not always easy to pretend everything is okay, it’s hard to remember that you're not alone with them feelings, but it's good to know that someone, somewhere cares to remind you it’s temporary.
