Precious Moments

This piece is a personal exploration of identity and memory. An intricate collection of images surrounds a centered self portrait of myself taking a picture of the viewer, a symbol of both observation and self-reflection. I make eye contact with the viewer capturing them in the moment and acknowledging their presence. The mosaic of photos encourage the viewer to get more intimate with the moments captured guiding the eyes through the dynamic composition. The black and white photos compliment the natural tones of the wood, both providing a satisfying gradient. As I continue to share my own personal experiences and narrative, I encourage my audience to also stop to appreciate the precious moments often overlooked. These tiny images from a contact sheet would have not been developed now portals to small moments probably otherwise forgotten.
